Dr. Everest Okpara is a transformational business leader and entrepreneur with roughly 20 years of experience across healthcare, information technology, and the organised business sector in Nigeria. He holds a PhD and an MBA from Charisma University, a BSc in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management from Lagos State University, a certificate in Biostatistics and Epidemiology from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and a certificate in Healthcare Management from Lagos Business School. At Oriental Strategy and Analytics, Dr. Okpara brings extensive experience in building and scaling complex, multi-site operations, along with deep networks across Nigeria's healthcare, technology, and organised business sectors. Dr. Okpara is the Chairman and CEO of Everight Diagnostic & Laboratory Services Ltd., a medical diagnostics company he founded in 2005 and has grown to over 450 employees across branches in the South-East, South-West, and North Central regions of Nigeria. Under his leadership, Everight developed molecular testing capabilities and became the first private laboratory approved by the Medical Laboratory Council of Nigeria for COVID-19 PCR testing and one of the first approved by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control for real-time COVID-19 PCR tests. The company holds ISO 15189 accreditation. Dr. Okpara serves as National Vice President of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), and previously served as President of the Owerri Chamber of Commerce and NACCIMA Youth Coordinator for the Southeast region. In 2018, he founded Sangtech Technologies Nigeria Limited, an IT consultancy specialising in laboratory information systems and healthcare software. Through the Everight Healthcare Foundation, which he established in 2017, he has facilitated free healthcare for over 13,000 individuals and vaccinations for over 4,500 people in Nigeria. His contributions have been recognised with awards from organisations including the ECOWAS Youth Council, the Nigerian Medical Association, Gulf Medical University UAE, and Global Skills Hub UK, among others.
